Ky Walker is a transmasculine non-binary communications strategist, designer, and community advocate. For the past decade, Ky has been working with civil society organisations from grassroots to global, wielding the power of communication design to advance justice and equity. Ky works as the Associate Director of Systems & Design at Comotion, a social change agency.

Ky’s journey as a visual communicator started by supporting education for immigrant youth at the local level, which led them to advocate for immigrant survivors of gender-based violence nationally with the Tahirih Justice Center. After landing in Dublin (originally a Vermonter), Ky led design to progress sexual and reproductive health and rights with the International Confederation of Midwives.

Ky is passionate about using design as a tool for collective liberation. They’ve been involved in grassroots advocacy focused on housing justice, prison abolition, migrant rights, queer liberation, and beyond. Ky is proud to be on the committee of Trans Healthcare Action, a trans-led, volunteer-run community organisation fighting for self-determined trans healthcare in Ireland through political and medical advocacy. Ky is also a founding member of the Professional Association for Trans Health Ireland (PATHI).
